Funwalk-funday: 24th August;
This year's Funwalk-funday will take place on the Western Lawns, opposite the Grand Hotel, on Eastbourne's seafront on 24th August...Summer Bank Holiday Sunday!

The Funwalk allows local Charities & individuals to raise money for their own good causes, in an event run by the Rotary Club. All organisation, applications & entries are managed by our Club members, with assistance from a dedicated team of local supporters. The Funwalk starts at 11am, with check-in beginning at 10am.
Local charities are also invited to take a (free!) pitch on the Lawns, to publicise their own charity with a stand or side-show which they provide. Each pitch is 3-metres square & will be pre-allocated to each charity. Charities are encouraged to supply leaflets or brochures which illustrate the causes that they support.
Throughout the day, entertainments take place in the arena & around the Lawns.....to date, we have booked a jazz band, Punch & Judy show, "Kicks" martial arts display, "Hands-on-History" historical display, "Melody" the musical car & many others. Funfair trailors will be present, complete with the essential hot-dog & burger stalls!
This year's event has some exciting new attractions in the form of display units from the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme & from the Rotary Club itself. The former vehicle comes complete with interactive PC displays, a large-screen video screen & even a climbing wall for children!
The Rotary Roadshow vehicle provides a whole range of information about Rotary aims & objectives, together with promotional goods.
The Funday pitches are provided at no cost to the Charities, the Rotary Club recovering its expenses for the Funday by taking 10% of the Funwalkers sponsorship monies. (This will be invoiced to each participant after the event.)
If you would like to take part as a Walker or would like a pitch for your Charity stand, forms can be obtained from Beckett Newspapers, 1 Commercial Road, Eastbourne or you can download the relevant PDF forms below. (If you don't have a PDF reader on your computer, please download a free copy using the Adobe link below, before you download the forms).
