EXAMPLES OF CLUB ACTIVITIES:
Twelve members of the Club travelled to Lille on this year's Tripartite mission. Our numbers were whittled down a little due to illness but we hope we made up for that with enthusiasm!
Following a 'rescue' mission last September by Immediate Past-President Bob Hamblyn, accompanied by shock troops Chris & Yvette Smith plus Allan Woolley (when we felt we were slipping away from Lille Nord due to language difficulties and disinterest), harmony now prevails & we were warmly welcomed on 23rd May.
We really should have got into training for the very active but nevertheless highly enjoyable schedule set by the Lille Nord Club; a splendid weekend both for interest and certainly for the quality of the food, equally enjoyed by the small party from the Ghent Maritime Club.
We look forward to welcoming both Clubs on 8th May 2009 for the Eastbourne round of “hands across the sea” !

Social events are the life-blood of the Club & one such occasion took place recently when the "gentlemen" of the Club cooked for their ladies. Over fifty guests sat down to a variety of menus, with a prize for the "best-dressed" table. This was won by the table led by President-Elect Peter Nash, complete with floral decoration, menus in French and an array of culinary delights.
Eastbourne Rotary Club regularly sponsors "Shelterboxes", to provide shelter & aid in countries hit by disasters. (The proceeds of this year's Jazz Concert on 2nd April went towards this cause.)

Much-travelled Rotarian Ken Rawlings recently dropped in on the Rotary Club of Nassau in The Bahamas. Ken exchanged banners with President Leonard Adderley and he & his wife Sheila were entertained by the Members including expatriates from Eastbourne, Seaford and Lewes.
